Third, for some occasion, your protagonist does not immediately reach her destination. You will be hindered from doing so for some attainment. That is an important part of story telling. There would be no story if Frodo just went down the road to Mordor and slightly damaged the ring. Many things could stop the protagonist from reaching her goal.
This protagonist is repeatedly confronted with opponents who try to reach their goals. In the course of the years this leads to a growing personality. "It arouses the interest, and when the public gets to know the protagonists, an emotive investion is made. There' s a clear and evident disadvantage when the protagonist breaks down.
By not defeating Lex Luther or other villains in a classical Superman plot, the whole wide globe will sink into mayhem. Superman will conquer the bad guy or he will perish, losing Lois Lane, disappointing his mom and subjecting the kingdom to the reign of a terrible warlord. You can see that there are not only things (internal and external) that hinder the primary characters from reaching their goal, but there are also disadvantages when the primary characters do not.
When a story wouldn't have a stake, it wouldn't be inappropriate. Histories are "carried away" by incidents, the revelation of new information and choices that have to be made. With the story getting more intensive, the pressures increase and force people to make big choices. In the end, the real nature shows itself when these choices are made.
Let us first speak about what is happening. Those incidents can be things that are happening to the protagonist, things that are happening in the universe, or responses to things that the people do. This event causes the players to make choices or changes their attitude. There are also always new information to which the protagonists respond.
Retention of information is an important way to keep your interest in a story alive. Instead, in this instant of disclosure, we are gaining enormous insight into past occurrences. It is a choice that shows his nature. These are all due to what is at issue and the "motivation" of the actors, otherwise they would have no significance.

What is the major distinction between a film and a story is that a story is easier for a story to penetrate the inner worlds of the different people.
