Submissions directly to the publishers
Currently Fairlight Books is open for short novel entries (between 25,000 and 50,000 words) and short novel entries. Gladly we receive also longer fiction directly from writers. Clearly indicate whether you are submitting a short or a long fiction.
When you are transmitting longer fiction, please only transmit the first 10,000 words. Attach a short note or e-mail informing us about yourself and your message (often referred to as'Query Letter'). If you are interested in longer fiction, please enclose a one-page summary of the story of the novel or comic. When you submit your work directly to us, please take a few moments to review the below short story and fiction submission instructions.
Gladly we are looking forward to your letter! However, for us it is generally about the general qualtity of letter. Which kind of document should I submit? Our goal is to reply to all your questions as soon as possible, within 3 month. We' ll only be able to post a small portion of the fiction we get, so if we don't believe we can post your texts, we'll try to get back to you as soon as possible.
There is no'rule' that you should only obey in one place at a while. Be free to send your letter broadly - it has the best chances of being published this way. So if you won't take my letter, will you give me your opinion? Unfortunately, with restricted ressources we cannot give feedbacks for contributions that we do not publish.
A list of the most important typing colleges in Great Britain can be found here. Is it possible to mail my contribution? Preferred e-mail entries, but if you would rather submit by mail, you can do so: we will be happy to receive your submission: Entries Team, Fairlight Books, Summertown Pavilion, 18 - 24 Mid Way, Oxford OX2 07LG.
Is it possible to submit 10,000 words from different parts of my novel? Please submit the first 10,000 words. Do I have to have exactly 10,000 words? Please do not transmit more than 10,000 words. Wherever there are between 8,000 and 10,000 words in order, you are welcome to stay where it seems most at home for you and history.
While the way the syopsis is spelled may have a taste of your handwriting styles, this is not really important. Featuring over 8 million titles on e-book portals, it's difficult for a quiet, well-written fiction to find its way to an audiences drowned in a flood of fiction / erotic / slasher-genres.
Contrary to some conventional publishers, we do not believe that if you have previously pub-lished your own books, you have "polluted" the river. As long as your textbook follows the other rules, you are welcome to send it to us. Every entry should not be more than 10,000 words. We' re accepting fiction.
Is it possible to submit more than one entry at a while? Up to three short films by the same writer are acceptable. It is preferable to include each history in a seperate file. When submitting simultaneously (i.e. the artwork was sent simultaneously to several publishers or on-line magazines), you should inform us by e-mail if your work is first adopted elsewhere.
When we release your narrative, we will ask you for the first sole right to release it, which means that the short narrative should not have been released in an scholarly or journal, on-line or in printed form. Can I / must I afford to have my short novel released?
