Poetic Contests - Give your poetry a chance to win!
Type in your poetry and you could earn up to $2,000 in prize money! The six-monthly poetry competitions give a variety of awards to well-deserved writers. You can write your own poetry on any subject, no matter what your preferred theme. Participation in our competitions is free of charge, so you have nothing to loose.
Poetry competitions are held all year round and are rated by you, the poet! Every montly we will publish a new challenging and ask you to create and enter a poetry work that is inspired by a subject or poetry stylis. Please do not overlook to read the regulations to get more information about the entries.

Poetic competition by Tom Howard/Margaret Reid
Wellcome to the sixteenth yearly Tom Howard/Margaret Reid Poetry Competition. Submitting a work that has been either previously or not. Limitation of length: 250 rows per poet. Please have a look at the 15. Results of the sixteenth competition will be released on April 15, 2019. Fee: $12 per poet. The Margaret Reid Prize is awarded for a poetry in the folk tradition with regularly metered and/or rhymed poems or in a recognised poetical format.
There are also websites for tradtional and alien poetry on our resources pages. The Tom Howard Prize of $1,500 is given out for a poetry in any stylistic or gender. A $1,500 Margaret Reid Prize is given for a rhyming or stylistic work.
When you have composed a poetry in another country, you can have it translated into English and submitted for publication. Evaluation anonymously. Leave out your name and all identification information. You should also refrain from posting your credit in your list. Any information we need is gathered on our on-line registration page.
Occasionally, chosen contributions may also be featured in hardcopy for publication. We may ask your approval to have your listing included in one of these ledgers if you are a winner. We will not publish your listing in hard copy without your approval and you reserve all other permissions.
For example, you are free to post your work in printed form or on-line and participate in other competitions, whether or not you are a winner in this competition. Reimbursements As a rule, entrance dues are not refunded. If you think that you have an unusual situation, please get in touch with us within a year of your listing.
John Howard Reid (died 2018) won first prices and other honors at renowned literature contests. He is a seasoned reporter and newspaper publisher who has written several historic fiction, a poetry compendium, a competition winner's guidebook and over fifty works on cinematography.
Mr. Reid was supported for several years by Dee C. Konrad, a former associate professor at the British Department of Barat College of DePaul University and Dean of the Liberal Arts and Sciences.
