None of them lets you use page numbers because pages "see" each page & you actually have 2 pages per page. For Leopard customers or before, use Cocoa Booklet. To create a booklet in collapsed type sizes, begin with your Pages page in Legal & bigger than the regular fonts.

To make an A4 booklet, please make your Pages file in A4 format and a bigger typeface. Exports the Pages file to a PDF and then drags the PDF to the Cocoa Booklet tool. A new PDF is created in the shape of a booklet. The Cocoa Booklet no longer works in Snow Leopard, so you must use the Cocoa Booklet Service to make a booklet with any number of pages (preferably a multiples of 4).

Since I like the results better with CocoaBooklet, I saved my Pages PDF on my iMac with Snow Leopard & then copy the PDF to my Mac min with Leopard over my Mac networking to create the booklet with CocoaBooklet & then copy it back to my iMac.

I' ve tried to create the booklet as you proposed. Are the pages in the booklet coming out in the right order? Having already written the whole booklet in pages, I realized that I could not make it look as I had imagined, so I could copy whole paragraphs (chapters) into a new file that was designed as you suggest.

Even if I followed your directions, you now have to click outside the page and move the pointer to the text field again to choose it" - I couldn't move the pointer into the test field from outside the page layouts. Shall I design the paper as it will be sent, i.e. pages 1 & 20 together, then 2 & 19, 3 & 18 etc.?

I' ve been downloading Swift and had a try, but the paper doesn't look right - there doesn't seem to be any consideration of the inner margin - I'm not sure if it would work. I' ve made a nice booklet in Pages and now I wonder if the only way is to trim and insert the pages in the order they are printed on the paper (to print all pages on one page, then turn the pages over and print the other page) and do without page no. The only way to do this is to print the pages on the bottom.

Booklet has placed the pages in the correct order for a booklet. But how can I make a booklet that you point to in the download area? At the top of Peggy's Mail there is a green Booklet Service creation page. Yeah, I got a booklet now, so I think I'm getting there.

I' ve recently had to use this for my Sunday Newsletters when my Mac didn't work with Leopard& I didn't have another Mac with Leopard at hand. I had to put Leopard on a Mac before the next week's issue was due. The easiest way is to redesign the booklet so that pages 1 and 20 are on the same page and then 3 and 18, then 5 and 16 etc. - all these pages and then the other page is printed by hand.

I would have to enter the page numbers somehow by hand. However, I have also made several' sections' and it doesn't seem to be simple to extract and insert a page elsewhere. It' s such a pity that the booklet on the monitor was looking great - just as I was about to start printing it, I ran into trouble.

I should try again to make a booklet because I don't like being beaten. I can help you turn the paper into a booklet, if you like. I said I tried "everything" - I download ed Swift Publisher, created the booklet, re-installed my printers and none of them worked.
