Responding to inquiries from academia, school scientists are developing new, more rugged computing tools that ultimately transfer the performance of multi-variate statistics analyses to real-time, machine vision and status tracking. It enhances equipment efficiencies, lowers operational cost, boosts production and lowers carbon footprint in a variety of industries.
PERECPEPTIVE EEngineering works with a number of large British utilities whose management system has significantly increased the effectiveness of the facilities. They are used in ten mills in Europe, Australia, Asia and the USA. They are used to decrease the consumption of vapour and CO2 emission, which has led to significant surcharges.
The school' s research team is developing algorithmic tools that use multi-variate statistic methods to analyze status and manufacturing control information. Multi-variate statistic algorithm that detects errors in near-realtime. Rugged algorithm for integrating into system security system that is able to switch off on-demand. Statistic methods that allow the controller to use inferior sensing methods.
State key laboratory for innovative software technology
The State Key Lab for Novel Software Technology was founded in 1986 by the Faculty of Computer Science and Technology and the Institute of Computer Software at Nanjing University, began its preparation in 1987 and was founded in 1990. The lab received its 4th evaluation in 2007 and was named "Excellent State Key Lab in the Area of Information Science".
It underwent its fifth evaluation in 2012 and again received the "Excellent State Key Laboratory in the Area of Information Science" award. Present head of the laboratory is Professor Jian Lv (Academic of the Chinese Academy of Sciences), and the head of the academical board is Professor FuqingYang (Academic of the Chinese Academy of Sciences).
Emphasis of the lab is on the research of new software techniques and the corresponding applications. Its aim is to take advantage of the challenge and opportunity of rapidly developing new software techniques and meet the country's information design needs. In addition, the lab investigates important science issues in computer software, investigates fundamental and general issues in novel software techniques, and follows the leading ideologies of initial research, technological breakthroughs, and industrial advancement attainments.
Aiming to build its own characteristics and excellence in research and applications of novel software technology and in the culture of high value talent, the lab contributes to the advancing and fast growth of the Chinese software industries. Research focuses on: novel software and software methods, software QA and software automatization, shared computation and system safety, mechanical engineering and smart information technology, computer science and contents management.
A system relates to the Internet-oriented software method and system of technological assistance; two points of access relate to software methodologies and mechanical education; three layers relate to the open and Internet-oriented software methodologies, the smart and trusted core technologies and the pervasive and fundamental primitive modes of use; while four core issues relate to the Internet-oriented and dependable frameworks of software methodologies, mechanical education and software assistance technologies, the pervasive and dispersed technologies of applied assistance, humanist mediatypublishing.
By the end of 2013, the laboratory had carried out over 560 research activities, among them the 973 domestic research activities, 863 large-scale S&T domestic research activities, large S&T domestic research activities, scientific funding for outstanding young scientists, the German scientific funding bodies, provinces, interna -tional co-operation and interdisciplinary co-operation activities. In addition, the laboratory has contributed over 5000 articles to key global magazines, among them AI?JMLR?JSAC?PR?TKDE?TOSEM?TMM?TPDS?COLT?TPAMI?IJCAI?Science China and key conferencing events includingAAAI?ACM MM?CAV?IJCAI?TSE?CVPR?FMCAD?ICDCS?ICML?ICNP?ICSE?ICSE?ICWS?IJCAI?ISSTA?ISSTA?KDD?MOBIHOC?NIPS?INFOCOM?OOPSLA?SPAA?UBICOMP?WWW,etc.
In addition, the DKFZ has written 47 scientific works. Jiangsu Outstanding has won three National Outstanding Dissertations, six CCF Outstanding Dissertations and four Jiangsu Outstanding Dissertations. It has also made great strides in the development of actual application and has been instrumental in China's economical and societal development.
By the end of 2013, 130 patent and 61 software copyright were issued. Currently, the lab has 57 full-time scientists, 35 of whom hold a doctorate. These include 1 academic from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 1 ACM distinguished scientist, 1 IEEE fellow, 1 IAPR fellow, 1 IET/IEE fellow, 1 AAAI fellow,3 distinguished professors in the Cheung Kong Scholars Program, 6 winners of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars,
Included in the award are 2 Winner of the National Science Fund for Outstanding Young Scholars, 2 Winner of the National BaiQianWan Talents Project of the first and second level, 3 outstanding middle-aged professionals, 2 Winner of the Thousand Talents Plan for Young Professionals, 2 Winner of the China National Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award, Several of the laboratory's scientists have been on committees in major academia programmes and organisations, such as the Information Sciences Panel of the National Grand Fundamental Research Program (973) and the National High-Tech Research and Development Program (863); National S&T Major Program General Panel of Expertise; Information Sciences Panel of Expertise and Major Research Plan of the National Natural Sciences Foundation of China;
Multidisciplinary evaluation teams of the Scientific Committee of the State Council, the China Computer Federation and its Technology Committee, the China Association forArtificial Intelligence and its Technology Committee, the United Nations University, the United Nations Institute for Software Technology (UNU/IIST), the ACM China Council, the IEEE Nanjing Section and the IEEE Computer Society (Nanjing Chapter). Scientists have also worked as consultants, senior editorial staff, deputy editors-in-chief, deputy editorial staff, domainname editorial staff and editorial staff for scientific magazines and transactional publications in China and abroad.
You have also been chair and members of the Governing Board, general (co-)chairpersons, programme chairpersons (co-)chairpersons and division heads in many of our academia forums. The Science Fund for Creative Research Groups of the Natural Science Foundation of China won the award in 2007. A number of scientific meetings have been held both nationally and internationally.
These collaborative and scholarly sharing efforts play an important role for the Laboratories in raising the level of global scholarly impact, improving the reputation of academia, broadening the range of research and acquiring the latest developments in the area. It promotes interactions and collaboration between scientists from different fields and fields, encouraging them to make full use of the research and experimentation institutions available and striving to become an important nationwide research basis and a gateway for transnational academia.
It has set its own set of policies and guidelines and has been strongly supported by the College in the areas of equipment, offices, recruiting talents, job evaluation, academics and collaboration at home and abroad, allowing scientists to focus on their own research and the evolution of the lab in order to meet the lab's policy objectives.
Its objectives are to increase the company's global reach in forward-looking and imaginative research into new software methodologies and technologies, to continuously advance the research and develop new and high-tech software, to achieve significant success in the use and industrialisation of important software technologies and systems, and thus to create the lab as a research basis for systematically and continuously basic research,
a research and applications basis for the research of new software technologies, as a basis for the promotion of highly gifted people and as a basis for self-innovation and the practical implementation of new software technologies, with the aim of positioning our state on the world' s high technological highlands in software engineering and fostering the advance of our country' s software industries.
