The Microsoft Publisher tutorial on setting up files for printing
Microsofts Publisher is not able to make a correct trim allowance, so you need to configure a user-defined pageize. Select "One Page per Sheet" Publisher shows a border around the page, you can still place background over the border (to press the border), but Publisher won't let you type text over the border.
No CMYK is supported by Microsoft Publisher and should not be used to produce colour elements or photographs for the printer. Microsofts Publisher only works with RGB images, which means that they look good on the monitor but do not produce the same colour prints. Use Microsoft Publisher only for plain text and graphic files where colour is irrelevant.
If Microsoft Publisher outputs a text file in Microsoft format with an insufficient text size, but drastically reduces the size of your photographs, do not use Microsoft Publisher to produce a file if your image size is a problem in your projects. The publisher can print a max. of 220dpi, i.e. some images can appear pixeled on a job printing machine.
Use Microsoft Publisher only for plain text and graphic print where graphic integrity is not important. Microsofts Publisher is not able to draw outlines of your typefaces, so there is a danger that your typefaces will change to other one. Use Microsoft Publisher only if you do not need to enter typographical data, page breaks, spaces between words and lines.
The use of non-Microsoft Publisher font types is not advised when using Microsoft Publisher: Store your Microsoft Publisher documents as PDF: Avoid sending PUB data to a commercially available print device. Select "Commercial Press" Click Publish. Please note: The results are not predictable when you print from Microsoft Publisher.
