One way or another, I think I know what part of your book is giving you trouble. It'?s an intro. It' the greatest obstacle for most of the authors I work with. Whenever they try to combine their titles and chapters in an elegant way with a consistent and appealing intro, they meet the mural.

First of all, however, you must keep one important thing in mind: an introductory note is a promotional cover for your book. As enticing as it may be to write an introductory essay that tries to attract the interest of "everyone," it is a villain. Like mentioned above, it must be aimed at your perfect readership and address them.

I trust you know exactly who your perfect readers are. This means that you are prepared to take the three stages to create an appealing and efficient book presentation. Duhigg does not tell readers in his intro to The Power of Habit that he is a Pulitzer Prize laureate, that he went to Yale and Harvard, or that he worked in the field of personal finance before becoming a newsman.

This says to the readers that they are able to research and communicate information in a digestive way. Changing a habits is not necessarily simple or fast. It is remarkable that you do not have to be a journalist, researcher or recognized specialist to win the reader's trust. It is therefore important to know exactly who your perfect readers are.

Leaving the readers with the impression that they can rely on you. This gives the readers the feeling that you have the necessary "references" or experiences to keep the promises you made to them in the first part. That'?s how Duhigg sums up the power of habit: In this section of your introductory text, the readers will find their way around.

They are told what to look forward to and it gives them the trust that your book offers them added value. Readers know what to look forward to and are enthusiastic. It is a great obligation to read a book, especially when you consider how many things compete for the eye apples these days.

Therefore, the launch of your book is an effective selling point for your book.
