Scholars have a long story of typing for a general audience[1]. That' s usually about 700 to 800 words that highlight tales and thoughts from the text that are of interest to a particular group. On occasion, a début volume will be selling many without much advertising.

Discussing a story, mentioning it in a big paper or on the TV or wireless, can blow up the Amazon leaderboard. Your publishing house can help you to conduct an interview with your local TV, podcast, newspaper etc. near the publication date of the work. So if you already have contact in the press, it is a good way to get in contact with them and see if they are interested.

It is also possible to give lectures about the books. It is an occasion to exchange the story and idea in your books with a broader audiences after working on the books for month.
