A lot of folks think they have a novel in them, but they can never write it. I started working on my first novel last weekend, after five years of nonfiction work. One of my favourite things to observe after registering through National Novel Reading Month (NaNoWriMo) is the strength of the fellowship to drive a creature forward in its quest.
