Darcy Pattison gives some hints for the self-publication of a children's picture album. Eventually, many authors want to try to write and publish a children's picture album. She has many reasons: her own kids are inspiring a novel, they like to recall a child-hood experience, or her own mother gives them a novel that doesn't seem right for their accustomed music.

But if you don't have a good artistic vision, you need to find a great performer who can also do graphics design/typography, preferrably one with a background in children's books.
