How to make a Booklet in PublisherCreating a booklet in the publisher
Setting up and printing a booklet or newsletters inetter format
If your machine is capable of producing a fold-out booklet or 8.5 x 11" newsletters, you can print on 11 x 17" (or tabloid) sheets. Although this item applies to US 8.5 x 11 format letters, you can use this technology for any book whose page is half the page format of your hardcopy.
Select the booklet you want to fold and open it. On the Page Setup dialogue field, under Layout Types, click Brochure. Ensure that the width is 8.5 and the height is 11. Below the booklet image you should see the following (for a 4-page booklet): The number of pages Microsoft Publisher inserts is a multiple of four, since one piece of hard copy becomes four pages.
Please note: Your booklet will only be printed properly if the number of pages is a multiple of four, but you do not need to place contents on all four of them. Choose File > Printout. Under Printers in the Printing dialogue field, choose a suitable 11x17 or tray printing station.
In the Settings menu, choose:: Choose all the other desired selections, and then click OK to start the publishing process. When your MFP does not allow two-sided output, Microsoft Publisher produces the first and last page on one piece of hard copy, the second and penultimate pages on another piece of blanket, and so on.
You can also use 2-sided pressure manually. Select the booklet you want to fold and open it. On the Format Publishing taskbar, under Publishing Options, click Change Page Size. From the Page Setup dialogue under Blank Page Sizes, click Brochures, and then click 8.5 x 11" Stationery.
From the File Menu, click Printing Setup, and then click the Publishing and Papers Settings page. Choose a plotter from the Plotter Name dropdown box that can be printed on 11 x 17 inch or tabbed media. Check whether the 11 x 17 inch or tray format is chosen under Card. In the Printing Option dialog box, choose Brochure, Sidefold.
When booklet, side seam is not available, the chosen page format may be too small for the pages. Ensure that the print format is twice as large as the page format. In the Preview section, you can see how two of the pages appear when they are tabbed on a tab page.
Please note: Your booklet will only be printed properly if the number of pages is a multiple of four, but you do not need to place contents on all four of them. From the File menu, click the File button, click Start and then click the Publishing and Paper Settings page. Check in the "Print" dialogue field under "Print options" whether "Brochure, Page fold" is in use.
If your Zebra Page mode (or Dual Page mode) is supported, make sure Two Page or Two Page, Reverse Shorthand is checked in 2 Page mode. Choose all the other desired selections, and then click OK to start the publishing process.
