It' s important to know the connection between quotas and related probabilities: Thus, the ratios of a-b (a/b or a to b) show a relatively high chance of a + 2, e.g. 6-4 (6 to 4) is 4/(6 + 4) = 4/10 = 0. 4 (or 40%). For example, a likelihood of x is ( (1 - x )/x, e.g. 0. 2 is (1 - in 0.2)/0. 2 = in 0.8/0. 2 = in 4/1 (4-1, 4 to 1).

The addition of the percentage rates results in a "total book" of 100% (corresponds to a book of fairness). Bookmakers, in their desire to make use of a win, will always diminish these chances. The addition of these percentage rates results in a "book" of 120%. In order to illustrate the idea in the simplest possible scenarios, an example is considered, which consists of a two-match game: the choice of the winning team from two games: It is the same in Match 2 between C and D. In a book in each of their games, i.e. each has a book of 100%, all participants would be equally divided.

However a bookie would probably provide quotas of 5-6 (for example) for each of the two possible results in any case (any game). The result is a book for each of the 109 games. 09 to %, computed by 100 × (6 + 6) i.e. 9. 09% exceeded. Since each of the results for this example has been consciously selected to make sure that they are of equal likelihood, it can be inferred that the likelihood that each result will occur is 1? or 0.25 and that the likelihood that each result will occur is 3-1 (3/1 or'three to one').
