However, in earlier days a king was most likely the leader of a clan. We had a day when warriors had to bring their army into the war. When they were real warlords, they became emperors because the nation respect them and saw that they were a good man in dangerous years.

I believe that in England this ended with Henry VII, who as the last king (at least there) led his men himself into the battle, in the 1500s with the Rose Wars..... What will emperor and king do? Well, if you look at Rome, there was a period with a king--

It was seven of them. And then the crowd no longer liked royalty, and the government formed a state. It took the reublic until it was too corrupt and needed a ruler of some kind and a high prior, a mortal deity, so that the population would not be too unhappy with the government and let it down (with civilian uprising).

Emperor (high king, prince.....) like this, but not for long (uh, maybe a little more: Emperor Rome took about 476 years), because it is a rotted kind of governance, and its kingdoms are usually already meant to be overrun. What qualifications does someone have to become king?
