As you edit your work, think of the people you wrote it for. Ensure that the contents are age-appropriate and that the story can be attributed to the public of the work. When addressing an adolescent crowd, you should not concentrate so much on the inner realisations of the character as on the happenings around them.
Use a dialog and a narration styles suitable for both the storyline itself and your main audience. Consider age/birthdays, timing, sequence of incidents, characters' identities, surroundings, narrative styles, dialog - almost anywhere you could make a mistake. You can use an organization or other guideline to keep the facts and character of your storyline upright.
It lets you follow your own characteristics, type single sections, take memos about your own personal settings or personalities, and so on. I' ve already said this before as a writing/editing tip, but if the action is not driven by the sequence or triggers a modification in one or more of the actors, then do it.
