No matter what your reasons for releasing an email are, we will guide you through the entire eBooks publication lifecycle..... Use iTunes Producer 2. Nine for ledgers. iTunes Producer is mainly used to compile the detailed information about the eBookstore to be sent to the iBookstore.
After downloading and installing iTunes Producer, click the Build New Pack... Buttons... and then click the Add New Pack et Al. Add new volume is already chosen, so click Next. You will now see the primary screen, which is made up of three major areas - Books, Assets and Delivery, each with its own sub-areas (which can be seen at the bottom of the screen).
First, select Account > About. The ISBN is the one-of-a-kind industrial reference number for the inclusion of your work. It' no longer needed for submitting to the iBookstore (but you may still want one for your book). Browse type: Select either Textbook or Workbook. Please be aware that Textbook is only valid if the textbook is in Multi-Touch mode, which does not hold true for textbooks created in it.
It is the name of the publishing house used on the title page of the album. It is not part of a serial and therefore not valid. Refer to the iTunes Producer manual to find out when you would use it. Books description: It is used in the iBookstore.
Then click Submit Subcategory, and then select from the Subcategories. The BISAC stands for Book Industry Standards and Communications, while the Book Industry Communication (BIC2) taxionomy is used in the UK. Select the desired categorization and then select a group and subcategory. There' s a great deal to chose from, and it's not always simple to find an apparent agreement.
It is also not at all clear how these catagories refer to the categorization of the books in the iBookstore. I' m quite sure that the topics I selected above would register in iTunes under the heading "Education". It was difficult to make a decision because you can only select one (while your marks allow for a wider area of life).
Apple's audiences can include general, children, young adults, primary and secondary schools, college and university, education and science, alternative language learning, adult education or career and technical education. Use this section only if you have a printed copy or an earlier one.
So this is an important part of your buying experience if you plan to bill your books. To begin, click Append Area and select the area you want to append. Publications type: The digital only means that the work has no printed equivalents or has been significantly improved compared to the printed one.
Others' are works that do not fall into either group. Select a date that must be either the current date or a date in the futur. Preorder Startdate: You can specify this, but you do not have to. Actual list price: Inquire about the sales value of the print copy of the product, if available.
You can suggest a sales quotation here if there has never been a print copy before. pricelist: That is the real cost for the product to be sold at the iBookstore, and there are different levels for each area. Please make sure you have checked'Cleared for sale', otherwise the product is not available at the iBookstore in this area.
It would then limit the use of the manual to the download ing device. And if the volume you publish is free, you don't have to think too much about the precise price in each of the countries, so you can use the Mass Territory Setup to help you reduce your costs.
This is similar to the areas, but here you can set a suggested iBookstore retail store rate and iTunes Producer will autoselect the appropriate rate level for all areas you are selecting (based on the selected base currency). This is an effortless job in this case, as the work is free.
Once you're done, you can click the Set Default buttom to keep the default setting for all your upcoming ledgers that you pack in iTunes Producer. If you click Next, you will be taken to the next section, Assets. Here are three sub-sections - Publication, Cover Art and Screen Shots.
You need to get your book's epoxy-document. Once you've created your eBook in Books Creator, you can use one of the default exports option to copy it to your Mac's Apple App s or store it in a cloudservice such as Dropbox. Click the Select.... buttons under Publication to load your epoxy files.
There is no need for a publishing example if it is not an ePub read aloud document or a publishing in multi-touch mode (e.g. iBooks made with iBooks Author). You can, however, select pages from your eBook that you want to include in the previews. Failing this, Apple will randomly select the pages for the sampling.
It' s a shame iTunes Producer can't just use the first page of the album. You need to make a seperate artwork and submit it here. Irrespective of whether the covers are in horizontal, vertical or quadratic format. However, a great way to make covers when using Books Creator on the iPad is to take a screen shot of the front page of your eBook (press the Home and Home buttons at the same time).
You can also use the "Share Page" feature of Books Creator to store the front page as an icon on your Mac. Simultaneously clicking the Home and Quick Controls I e-mailed home screen shots of pages in the iBooks to my Mac and processed them in Adobe Photoshop to clear the iPod touch tool bar and make sure they were the right size.
Once you open the distribution area, you'll see that Apple Producer has verified your album and is willing to submit it to Apple. You are now prepared to submit the pack to Apple for review. Uploading to Appleunes will take a while, dependent on the rate of your web browser uptime. Sign in to APL and click Manage your library to view your work.
