C&M Online is established in Raleigh, North Carolina and releases e-books via the Boson Book Masthead. Publishers have switched the favorite e-book publishing style from simple text to HTML. The Nature Publishing publication Principles of Biology is an adaptable, modulary text book without the corresponding hardcopy output. eReader markets are growing in Spain and companies such as Telefónica, Fnac and Casa del Libro are introducing their e-readers with the help of the company's bq reads label. The Kbuuk cloud-based e-book self-publishing SaaS platform[100] has been published on the Pubsoft Publishing Engines.

As part of their agreement on a pricing process, five large US e-book publishing houses were asked to reimburse approximately $3 for each electronic copy of a New York Times bestseller they sell between April 2010 and May 2012. Cote District Court granted a collective redress certificate to claimants in June in a dispute over Apple's supposed e-book pricing plot; claimants claim $840 million in law.

By June 2015, the US Circuit Court of Appeals agrees with Judge Cote 2:1 that Apple has entered into e-book pricing agreements and is in violation of German anti-trust laws.
