Passionately Alaa Al Aswany teaches and promotes new talents in literature. The Creative Writing Weekend is aimed at authors who want to acquire the art of extraordinary story telling in an intense framework. During a three days long workshops the pupils get to know the skills that make up a captivating fairy tale and the skills that authors use to create tales and people.
Writing activities in grade will deepen these sessions. At the end of the workshops the participants will create their own tales under the direction of Alaa Al Aswany. Price of the workshops is $1,770. The number of pupils is restricted to six. Workshops will take place on Friday (18:30 - 21:30), Saturday (10:00 - 17:00) and Sunday (10:00 - 17:00) on 19 and 21 October 2018 (17 lesson times in total).
Arabic courses are available for those who wish.
Writing weekend with Skyros
When I arrive at The Grange in Shanklin on the Isle of Wight (picture above), our writing basis for the weekend, I am feeling upset. I' m here for Skyros''Stories of Your Life' writing weekend with the writer and teacher Alison Habens (picture below). All of Alison's writing activities are designed around your needs, whether you want to create a memory, drama, novel or text.
A member of the group is hoping to make her personal history to share with her grandkids, and others, like me, are looking for creative writing inspirations. Situated in the old town of Shanklin with its quiet backyards and nearby beaches, the Grange is an ideal place to relax and enjoy writing.
Tutorials help you to understand your past - the smells, noises, and experience. We share a lot of advices and debate the dialog and how the placement of words can alter a character's intentions and tones. In her writing, Alison will explain how to'show, not say' how and when to use different forms of time and ways to evolve people.
I' m late for my return home, but I don't care - I just waste my free moment writing the first few words of a novel.
