University of Houston's faculty and Creative Writing Program staff work hard to ensure that their students receive a rich and dedicated graduate education. M. F. A. in Creative Writing, Publishing and Editing is a residence program with three main focuses: fiction, creative non-fiction and poetry.

University of Houston's Creative Writing Program is working to provide its undergraduates with a wealth of committed work. Employees are supporting both the faculties and our alumni, and the faculties are committed to a postgraduate training that will help their alumni develop as authors and literary masters.

By means of a series of work-shops, independend study and literary classes, the department works together with the student to test their self-image as authors and to examine and examine in depth the aesthetical, moral and policy beliefs behind their writing. First and foremost, the department and personnel strive to offer the student a fellowship in which authors can thrive.

ZEIT: Saturday, August 25, 1-4 p.m. Described by Suzette Haden Elgin as "a kind of different kind of realism from the existing", the poetic of the fantastical includes the poetic, surrealistic, strange, leecheshadow, sci-fi, fantasy, myth and terror-genre.

Authors can write poetry about fantasy environments and scenes.....

ZEIT: Six Tuesday, September 4, September 11, September 18, September 25, October 2, October 9, 18-21 In this workshops we investigate the tales that keep us awake at first. By studying the work of very accomplished writers, researching writing practices in the classroom and checking and discussing our own scripts, we will be learning to create mysteries, thrillers and tension.
