Aims of creative writing

These are the goals and statements created by the Faculty of Creative Writing to help students better understand the goals of the program. One goal of three or four writing places per week. Aims of the course Creative Writing Maior

These are the goals and messages that have been developed by the Creative Writing Department to help the student better understanding the goals of the program. Educating them in the esthetic creeds and literature of different epochs and civilizations in order to develop their own sensitivities. Teaching pupils how to be a writer and how to be critical in reading - to know the crafts, goals and esthetic decisions of other authors in order to create the pupils' own works.

Giving pupils the chance to write frequently and comprehensively, led by educators, assisted by schoolmates, based on literacy and learning, to enable an education in music. In order to evaluate the achievement of these goals, in their 400-step writing workshops (ENGL 401, 404 or 409) they are asked to think about how far they had the chance to achieve these goals and to what degree they felt they had been attained.

These considerations will be made in the shape of short notes at the end of the Intermediate Workshops. The current evaluation of the subject by the students enables the department to better understanding the strength and weakness of the subject and to consider a review of the demands if necessary.

Curriculum/Goals of the Creative Writing Program

Any creative writing graduate can do this: Demonstration of basic analytical abilities in the evaluation of creative work, regardless of whether it is public or university work. This includes precise literacy, analysing text in different styles and reviewing outlines. This capacity for thought must be demonstrated by workshops, commentaries and in the assessment of their own work.

Demonstration of sentence-level knowledge, incl. synergy and diction. Demonstration of the mastery of the fundamental aspects of forms in the categories in which they study, e.g. writing scenes in fantasy, non-fiction and dramaturgy and the poetical line for poet. Demonstrating an appreciation of the physical structures, as well as the drama structures, in the categories they have been studying.

Demonstrating the capacity to guide the work from the creation of an concept to the design through the phases of review. Demonstration of the understanding of the literary tradition in which they are writing, based on the six classes that the students take for the part of their main subject in writing.
