Cost to Publish your own BookCosts for publishing your own book
What does it cost to publish a book on CreateSpace?
The co-answers have noticed rightly that the publication of a book with Createspace will cost you a sum of $0 and 0¢. That is, if by "costs" we mean a prepayment - a publication charge. However, there is a rather off-line, minimal cost - for every copy you are selling through Amazon, Amazon will take its edit and Createspace will take a slice for the printing outlay.
Amazons will take 40% of the book's listed prices and Createspace will take a charge on the length of your book and whether it is b/w or full-colour. Particularly when we think back to what conventional publishing houses are paying their writers (answer: much less). But.... If you ask about the cost of making a pocket book to publish it with Createspace (which is probably the real issue here), then that's another one.
In general, the items that are required to make your paperback: Processing Service: $50-$1k,2k+ This can differ greatly according to the caliber of the publisher and the length of your book. The lowest rate point I have recorded here is Fiverr service, for a 10k dictionary. It is a little difficult to make precise quotes, as these can differ greatly according to the complexities and nature of the book to be published.
When you publish a pocket book just for laughs or just to keep your own book, you can use websites like Fiverr to do things for you very cheaply. From a technical point of view, with a computer, a copy of Microsoft Word and free graphics processing softwares, you can do it all for free.
And all this without touching your pocket. But, again, more than likely, the result is best if you give this over to professionals you can find on sites like Upwork, Fiverr, 99designs etc.
