In 2016 Children's Books Week, we asked a large number of authors and illustrations - among them Cressida Cowell, Nick Butterworth and Tom Percival - about their favorite children's books. We asked her before her performances at our children's books week events: "What was your favorite textbook as a kid?
The Ogre Downstairs by Diana Wynne Jones was the story that made me fall in love with ALL books and one of these days become a novelist myself. Fun and enchanting, it included an evil stepdad and a chemical kit with chemical that could make you float or make your toy come to live.
It was the first one that took me to another place and another era. and the way Moomintroll felt like an outcast, what we all do when we mature from there. My favorite trip as a readers was perhaps the first trip to Moomin Valley by studying Tove Jansson's "Moominsummer Madness". Arabel's rave by Joan Aiken, this was the first volume in a serial about a young Arabel and her domestic animal ravens, Mortimer, and their crazy adventure together.
International Book Day 2015: Most popular children's authors on Twitter from JK Rowling to Michael Rosen
On the occasion of World Book Day, Twitter published information about which children's authors have the most supporters on the Sites. She' s not yet familiarised herself with other children' s books, but says she wants to do it soon. Rowling is only slightly behind the writer of the young grown-up phenomena The Fault in Our Star.

It also wrote the 6th part of the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, titled And Another Thing....... Former cover design artist has had a resounding hit with her Wonder books about a young man who was borne with a face deformation and who finds it difficult to adapt after his first visit to regular college.
