On the Festival - Bad Kinderliteraturfestival : Bad Kinderliteraturfestival
Founded in 2007 by Bath-based children's publishers Gill and John McLay. It is the single most committed children's book festival in Europe and offers over 80 open days and an expansive program of activities in school. On a regular basis, the festival draws some of the greatest children's writers and graphic designers from Germany and abroad.
Cressida Wilson, Cressida Cowell, Martin Rosen, Judith Kerr, Michael Morpurgo, Anthony Horowitz, Lauren Child, Shirley Hughes, Julia Donaldson, Michael Rosen, Terry Deary, Cornelia Funke, Eoin Colfer, Darren Shan, Neil Gaiman, Anthony Browne and Francesca Simon. It is a festival ethos: to amuse and inspire kids to read.
Our goal is to provide a welcoming, familiar environment in which young book lovers can come to the festival's happenings and get to know their favorite writers and people. Regular humor and book reading sessions, handicraft activity, trivia and gaming are offered at the event. Queuing for some shows is a legend and can take up to three hour for the most notable.
