The Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and the Manchester Children's Book Festival Team met this weekend in Manchester for an event entitled The Author/Illustrator as a Brand. The Bath Children's Literary Festival 2018 - Europe's biggest committed children's literary festival will take place from Friday, 28 September to Sunday, 7 October. Bath Children's Literary Festival, the biggest committed children's literary festival in Europe, always has a lively offer of lectures and activity for kids with a committed Young Adults Program (YA), and this year is no different.

John and Gill McLay, our art leaders, have established a world-class line to delight young bookseekers. The festival offers youngsters the opportunity to get to know the authors of their heroic literature, to bring illustration to live and to stimulate their imagination.

Founded in 2007 by Bath-based children's publishers Gill and John McLay. It is the single most committed children's book festival in Europe and offers over 80 open days and an expansive program of activities in school. On a regular basis, the festival draws some of the greatest children's writers and graphic designers from Germany and abroad.

It is a festival ethos: to amuse and inspire kids to read.

Our goal is to provide a welcoming, familiar environment in which young book lovers can come to the festival's happenings and get to know their favorite writers and people. Regular humor and book reading sessions, handicraft activity, trivia and gaming are offered at the event. Queuing for some shows is a legend and can take up to three hour for the most notable.
