Who we are
Growing up and moving east to go to Barnard College, she had a part-time position at Columbia University's M.F.A. progam. When she was there, she got a glimpse of the publisher's work and she knew she wanted to dedicate herself to her career to prove that the nib was more powerful than the saber.
After her studies she began her own professional life with Farrar, Straus & Giroux. She joined The Viking Press after a little over a year. As there her Irish Catholics yeast ceased to ask her to go to institution of jurisprudence, revealing in any informing of her female offspring who worked on occasions alongside Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, who had fitting begun her own occupation in the industry.
She left Viking and worked in a Frahlingur for seventeen years before opening her own office on May 1, 1994. She is interested in great books and non-fiction that describe or reveal previously unfamiliar or arcane world. She' s particularly interested in advanced policies, alternate medicines, sciences and technologies for the layman, societal commentaries, US histories and cultures - everything that is great reading!
For many years Leslie Meredith worked as a journalist, most recently for fifteen years at Simon & Schuster. Started in publishers with an intern at the University of Pittsburgh Press and worked as a chief executive at McGraw Hill, Bantam and Ballantine and as an executive writer at Harmony/Crown.
Raised in the South Hills of Pittsburgh, she spends most of her free day at the Carnegie Library of Homestead, where she explored the forests of Pennsylvania. Daphne du Maurier, Rachel Carson and Lewis Thomas with their epidemiology mum, and a passion for the story, and John Le Carré with her dad, an Academician and Commander of the Naval Reserves.
She graduated from Winchester-Thurston School in Pittsburgh and went on to study at the Peabody Conservatory of Music before completing her BA in English Literature at Swarthmore College. She has published best-selling books by Sy Montgomery, Lawrence Krauss, Jean Twenge, Ben Mezrich, Stacey O'Brien, Mark Obmascik, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Patricia McConnell, Stephen Jay Gould, Christiane Northrup, Caroline Myss, Jack Kornfield and Thich Nhat Hanh.
