Analyzing the history "Can-Can" by Arturo Vivante essay example of free
Arturo Vivante wrote the history under the name Can-Can. A native of Rome, he received training in medicine, but abandoned his office in mid-1950 when his brief histories were out. Many of his shorts are interpreted as a reflection or a memory of a far and strange past that a readership can only associate with the implanted author's own being.
Can-Can" is about a man who goes to a private encounter with the other one. However, before he says goodbye, he looks at an interesting scene: his spouse is dancing Can-Can. When the man arrives at the holiday home with his friend, he thinks of his spouse and he is very surprised.
Arturo Vivante's history "Can-can" is social-psychological. At the same epoch, however, this narrative can be regarded as psychologically, as the emotions and thoughts of the protagonists of history are shown here. Can-Can" is usually a very vibrant narrative that continuously reports on the happenings (man speaks to his woman, walks out of the building, phones his friend, is waiting for her in the cafe and then goes to the holiday home).
First, the lyrics can be perceived as light when everyone laughs, the lady shines, the kids are happy, but it's only outside, inside it's very sad. It' about the fact that the husbands can't hear his emotion, his feel. Even if he is already in the embrace of another lady, he cannot get away from the picture of his unguarded smile of his wifes without stocking and boots and her feet, which seemed so clean and slick.
You can clearly see that the spouse is suffering from the imminent infidelity and therefore the atmosphere during the whole episode becomes more and more depressing. He has a clear and comprehensible problem: the spouse wants to have a romantic relationship and is already disloyal to his spouse.
However, some sentiments of anger, understanding the fact that his spouse is still a lovely and handsome lady who is not fractured by a little thing, a lady who is still able to give him kindness and strength - won't let him remain sober. He became insecure about the cause of these doubt, not so much the dancing, but the fact that he was taken by surprise by his wife's performance of this one.
It was expecting that it sews or washes, does something un interesting or plain, but can't, doesn't do the dancing of passions and sentiments. The rhetoric of" Why did she do it now?" shows the state of the man's disorientation at the glance of this sudden sequence, which has been known for a long while and is already so habitually in a completely new form.
Can-Can"'s main characters are the man. It'?s not often he leaves the home, spending his free hours around supporting his family. However, the most characteristic trait of his personality is his work - he is a artist and the fact can account for the husband's quest for something new in his being.
For him, he can no longer be inspired by his woman, she is an enduring picture and he cannot get anything new from her, and that is why he decides to do such a thing. However, this dancing has destroyed all his intentions, destroyed all his tension, upset all his ideas.
The man cannot even erase the picture of his beloved woman, who has shown herself in an entirely new perspective. At first she gets pretty angry when she thinks the man is referring to his woman. However, after the man says that he is talking about someone who makes cans, Sarah is relieved and says: "I was worried that you were talking about your wife".
Can-Can" is a history of the meeting of two different siblings. She is a housekeeper with kids, who is occupied all days with stitching and laundry and the lady is a kind of serious manager. When we talk about a lady, we should point out that she is a very sage one.
Since she is envious, she does not show it to her man and stays calm and comical. As we see, she likes her man as much as any other, she is more secure at home and the man in turn assists her in caring for the family. She is portrayed in the picture of the caring lady and cautious mom dancing with her kids "...can-can, stepping her feet up in his direction".
And the other one, Sarah, is also matrimonial. She' s described as a egotistical lady who envys the protagonist' s daughter, as she says:'Oh, for a second I was worried that you were forgettable. Finally, envy of the spouse is the only relationship between these two wives, in all the others they are wholly inverse.
Of course, one of the most important moments to discuss is the part played by the name of this film. At first I was interested in why the writer had selected dancing as an influential part of his work. To this end I had turned to the tale of this dancing.
Can Can-Can is a high-energy and strenuous indoor dancing, which has been danced by a choir of women with long dresses, stilettos and socks. It is characterized by raising and manipulating the skirt, with high kicks and evocative, provoking physical movement.
First of all, Can-Can was a sculptural dancing, but today this dancing is a symbolic of femininity, passions and serenity. One can say that the name has a symbolic part. Also, it is very important to the part of the writer in this history. Throughout the whole storyline I can't get away from the impression that the writer is standing next to his figures.
He sympathizes with the character without judging his actions and understands that changes are necessary for him as a creativist. He knows every thought of the character, but does not disturb him, so that he can make his own decisions. A very interesting tool is used in the story: the end is missing.
We cannot know exactly what will come next, what the man's choice will be, whether he will go on or end his romantic affairs, but we can make the end of the film. For my part, I really hoped that everything will be like a melodrama: the man will stand up proud, tell his friend that he will be a villain when he does something like this with his woman, returns to his home and never thinks of infidelity again.
Arturo Vivante wrote the history under the name Can-can. Many of his shorts are like reflexions or reminiscences of a far and strange past that Vivante's readers can't help but connect with the implanted author's own world. It is a very interesting storyline and I dare say that it comes very near to ours.
One man goes to the clandestine gathering with the other girl and leaves his home, his wifes and his orphans. When he arrives at the holiday home, he thinks of his spouse and he is very surprised. There is no doubt about the issue posed by the author: the man wants to have a romantic scandal and is already disloyal to his spouse.
But a certain sense of annoyance, the understanding that his spouse is still a cute little piece of cherries that isn't broke by a little thing, a lady that can give him strength and charity - won't let him remain quiet. Waiting for the lady in the cafe, he hoped that she would not come and that he would come back home easy and happy: "How strangely he should hope for her not being.
" Though he spends quality leisure with the person he loves, he still thinks of his woman and miss her.
