Make sure that your inquiry is pressing. Type the information in the field below, or insert it from other resources. You can also look for bibliographical information in other libraries' catalogs, bookstores and publishing houses.
Gladly we are evaluating suggestions for book and book rows within the ranges of topics, which we develop further aktiv. When you want to have your book published with us, please adhere to our book suggestion guide. For a new set, read the Suggested Sets Guide. In order to suggest a new book for an already published book run, please go to the run page before you submit your proposal to see if there are any extra policies.
Send your proposal together with example materials as Word files by e-mail to the editors for your topic. Your proposal will be reviewed by the author to determine whether it is appropriate for the size of our publication. If necessary, you will then be asked to reply to the report and to change your proposal if necessary.
After the session, your journalist will notify you of the publication of your proposal and if it is approved, you will be given a paper.

We do not cover literature, children's literature, cookbooks, auto-biographies and religious script. Dutch -language publishing is supported by an extended contact database in the Dutch-speaking press and all reputable bookstores and chain stores in the Netherlands and Flanders. Your book is for experts in your research area?
Does your book focus on an area much bigger than your own subject or area of specialization? This is a book designed for the student, and if so, at what levels? It is a "trading book" (and in Dutch) - a book for general reader who have no specialist skills in your area?
Do you want a doctoral presentation or a presentation to the general public and if so, should it be disclosed as such (e.g. for defending a dissertation) or in a substantially revised form? Your book in categories 1 or 2 is probably a scientific publication (see below), unless it is in Dutch if it is popular science.
In the following, heading 3 is treated as a textbook, heading 4 as popular science and heading 5 as dissertations and public lectures. Derogations from this ruling are applicable to highly pictorial collections (and to all illustration work for which the author is responsible for the right to and the purchase of appropriate images) and to Open Access works for which it is always necessary to promote them.
The Amsterdam University Press's Media & Communication department has a broad global reach with several high-profile book collections such as Film Culture in Transition and MediaMatters, which include a number of books published in collaboration with a number of large research institutes and think-anks, such as the IISG (International Institute for Social History), the Netherlands Institute for War, Holocaust and Genocide Studies (NIOD) and the WRR (Scientific Council for Government Policy).
For further information on the individual fields of study, please consult the latest serials and journals in the respective area. These" Trade" journals in Dutch are intended for a wide audience in the Netherlands and Flanders. Any proposal should provide an answer to what is known as the Passover question:
"What makes this book different from any other book? Please contact us for further information on our work: we are looking forward to hearing from you: Scientists or groups of scientists who are interested in the submission of a proposal for scientific papers are recommended to contact the publisher in charge of this area. Please send us an application form if you would like to make a proposal for a paper.
Phases of evaluating a proposal and accepting a script include the following steps: Evaluating a scientific journal or journal (or related specialist, in the case of popular science Dutch language books) by an editing committee, on the basis of a completely unrelated appraisal of the work.
However, the benefit of an early agreement is that the writer knows the publishing house and has an editorship and a serial editing as assistance during the write work. It is recommended that writers respect the preference of the publication in which their book will appear. As an example, the date of authorship (sometimes also known as'Harvard') is customary in most sociological serials.
In many humanistic disciplines, however, the surname-short title reference system (or'Oxford') is in use. Each book is proofread to make sure that the final product meets the highest standards of text. All scientific papers are reviewed by internationally renowned editors (or, in the case of a book that appears outside a certain number, by proven experts).
Books are assessed and supervised with the help of popular science and scientific publication based on the class. Most of the scientific papers are assessed by an editorial committee of their own by separate scientific boards. We kindly ask you to check the serial lists for further information on the scope of each serial, the Executive Board's contacts and, occasionally, the composition of the Executive Boards.
