We have a large number of students at our English as a second langauge at our global English schools, most of whom become bi-lingual within a few years. In the next semester we will work on wildlife tales and I have written a workbook on the text'The Hodgeheg' by Dick King-Smith.
The workbook contains a series of things to do to help kids with new words in the text. You can also do drift and drip words with pictures to help kids learn concepts such as "bushes" and "ornamental gardens". It has been pinpointed as an area where we can concentrate on the next semester so that most of the workbook will help the kids to gain a better grasp of the text and to showcase it.
When the workbook is ready, the kids are asked to do a book report and make a comic life traffic information posting. You will then insert your Comic-Life-Poster into the workbook. It is very easy to load up the book and quickly for the kids to use.
When the kids are done, they can put it back up to Showbie. Then we can convert the book into a movie file that will be loaded into our VLE.
