It' the one I made during my year: Last year we talked about Mike McCormack's beautiful Solar Bones, which received enthusiastic critics and a lot of awards, among them the Goldsmiths and two BGE Irish Books Awards. The only suspicion we had was that it would go faster - and we were so excited when it was listed for the Man Booker 2017 (thanks to Canongate, who published her beautiful issue).
Sara Baume's wonderful A Line Made By Walking has contributed to making 2017 a glittering year. This is our bestselling book: In our reconvered voices show we release classic songs: This year we followed our very succesful ghostly tale The uninvited with The Unforeseen, also by Dorothy Macardle.
Wish I'd made it public: Megan Hunter (Picador)'s The End We Start From is my favorite - brief, hot, apocalyptic and pretty. It' the one I made during my year: In King's Cross and Port Harcourt the coming-of-age tale about two young blacks and their friendships takes place. This is our bestselling book:
Posthumous, plays this magic YA-Jest in South Africa. Wish I'd made it public: Irenose Okoji's Speak Gigantular (Jacaranda Books) is an enchanting, unsettling and erotic compilation of stories by a burning genius. Diana Evans's Ordinary People ( "Chatto & Windus") - brillant. It' the one I made during my year:
This is our bestselling book: Gonzalo Garcia's We Are the End is a marvelous novel about a confused young man named Tomas, who (like all of us) misunderstands things. This has really moved some people - but I'm worried that others have found the character rather than the script about him and may have lacked his humor and sorrow.
Wish I'd made it public: It' the one I made during my year: This is our bestselling book: Wish I'd made it public: It' the one I made during my year: Domenico Starnone's novel Dies is a strong novel about relations, families, love and the inevitable effects of our deeds. Translated into English by Jhumpa Lahiri, he was chosen by the Sunday Times as the best novel in the 2017-translations.
This is our bestselling book: Wish I'd made it public: It' the one I made during my year: The lively and trangressive Leone Ross anthology Come Let Us Singapore Anyway has garnered and marketed some very admirable critiques. Jacob Ross' collective tales, Tell No One About This, are the other volume I've written - it's just been out.
This is our bestselling book: Outside Trinidad, Jennifer Rahim's Curfew Chronicles has not yet been recognized for the ingeniously ingenious way in which she assembles brief stories into a kind of mini-Ulysses that take place during a 24-hour state of exception in Trinidad. Wish I'd made it public: It' the one I made during my year:
Mathias Énard's compliment (translated by Charlotte Mandell) is a brillant novel, a fictionalized tale of Easternism, narrated by an insomniacal musical scholar in Vienna. By 2018 we will be publishing a forth novel in English about the possibly apocryptic tale of Michelangelo, who is creating a Bosphorus-bridged city. This is our bestselling book:
Wish I'd made it public: It' the one I made during my year: Working classmates' working classes essay. Having raised £10k on Kickstarter, this collection has continued to be our best selling product ever. She has had important talks today on the working classes in Britain.
This is our bestselling book: but Naomi Booth's sealed is a novel that everyone should read. There is no other publication that has summarized our predicament in the whole wide globe so well for me. Wish I'd made it public: There is something beyond reality in this book: a legend of the English North.
It' the one I made during my year: Brabda Yoon's The Sad Part Was - a spirited, moving, whip-intelligent history library by an artist who has been known in Thailand for over a ten years but has never had anything in English; this is the first modern Thai literature to be released in the UK.
This is our bestselling book: Wish I'd made it public: Balestier Press released the Singapore issue of Unrest by Yeng Pway Ngon, which is Chinese translation by Jeremy Tiang, but I was in love with it. It' a beautiful novel. It' the one I made during my year:
It was voted one of Joanne Harris and Robert Macfarlane's books of the year. This is our bestselling book: It' already likened to the early Ishiguro and McEwan from the US publishing house to which we have just been selling the copyrights. Wish I'd made it public: The Know Your Place, by Nathan Connolly (Dead Ink): 24 working classses by working people.
All publishers, editors and agents must understand this if the sector really wants to fight inequalities. It' the one I made during my year: This is our bestselling book: It' s hard to find such a pleasant, smart work. The Impossible Fairytale, translates by Janet Hong, was a novel I tried to release but LOS.
It' the one I made during my year: As we asked Eley Williams to author this work, we knew it would be brillant, but we had no clue how brillant. This is our bestselling book: Concerning advertising and press reporting, Jeffrey Boakye's holding tight. Mm-hmm. It is one of the first great books about grim musical and cultural issues.
They were brilliantly taken up and screamed by the musical media, but generally ignored by art and literary editorial. It was a missing chance to attract a young, committed public and open up to their readers. Wish I'd made it public:
