Autobiography: Definitions & Examples - Video & Lesson Transcript
The course explores the non-fiction book category. Specifically, you will find out how an autobiography is non-fiction, with samples that illustrate the notions. All about non-fiction. Everybody has a history. Remember your own existence. Does anyone else want to know what else is happening in your world? If writers are writing about this kind of actual humans, places and occurrences, they call it a non-fiction book.
Books of non-fiction contain information that is demonstrably truthful, i.e. they must contain facts. But don't think that all items need to be clean and silly. Several can be classed as literature articles. Literature is similar to the fictional in that its aim is to maintain or articulate emotions and expression.
An example of non-fiction literature is autobiography. The autobiography is the history of a person's live as narrated by that individual. One of the themes of the book is the writer. Auto-biographies can be as intriguing as an imaginary narrative. Let's look at more autobiographical features.
The autobiography, as already stated, is the history of one's own existence, wrote by this one. In most cases auto-biographies are composed in ego-reading. That means that the storyteller or the storyteller is also in the narrative. One can say whether a tale is composed in the first character when the storyteller uses the individual speeches I, I and Mine.
As a rule, the autobiography is literal, as the writer usually reports on the happenings of his whole being. These are some samples of monograph-length autobiographies: It is not every autobiographic work that encompasses the whole of the writer's work. Indeed, there are four kinds of works that are usually much short than a regular work because only a part of the author's career is discuss.
The four brief kinds of autobiography are:
Defining the autobiography
The autobiography is a kind of autobiography that narrates the author's personal history, that is, it is a writing account of the author's entire being. Instead of being typed by someone else, an autobiography comes through one's own nib, in one's own words. A number of biographies are composed in the shape of a fictitious history; fiction or fiction reflecting the writer's real-life experiences.
These are Charles Dickens' David Copperfield and J.D. Salinger's The Catcher in the Rye. Therefore, it is not just a compilation of narratives - it is a disclosure to the reader about the author's self-discovery. With an autobiography, the writer tries to record important aspects of his own lives. Not only does he deal with his human careers and growing, but also with facts and feelings about one' s own families, relations, education, travel, sex and all kinds of inner wars.
Memoirs are recordings of reminiscences and special occurrences that have occurred in the author's work. Indeed, it is the narration of a history or an incident from his own lifetime; a report that does not tell the complete recording of a lifetime. In his autobiographic novel "The Box", the elegant prize-winner and writer Gunter Grass has presented a new view of self-contemplation:
Keller's autobiography is generally about breaking down great barriers through tough work and suffering. His autobiography "Selbstporträts: Fiction ", Frederic Tuten has blended the fringe of romance with the real world. As with post-modern authors such as Jorge Luis Borges and Italo Calvino, the tales of Tuten jump without premonition between the real and the imagined, the temporal and the place.
In his autobiography, he has done the same, in which the reader wants to move through imaginative tales of trains, showcases and mysteries to a lucky wedding that gives the reader insights into the truth. In his autobiography "My Prizes", Thomas Bernhard sarcastically comments on the many awards he has won to illustrate the great achievements of his literature work.
Rather, he saw his own existence as an absurd theatre play that unfolds around him. Though Bernhard is satisfied with an author's style of living and reputation, his smug posture and sharp humour make this memory even more charming and fun. "Benjamin Franklin's Autobiography" was authored by one of the founders of the United States.
It is one of the best example of how the US dreams of giving people the opportunity to work harder to achieve self-sufficiency and live a successful one. Autobiographers can talk directly to their readership and heirs. It is the task of autobiography to bequeath to its readership.
The autobiography allows individuals to share their victories and failures and lessons so that the reader can find inspiration through inspiring tales. Lifestories bridging the gulf between people of different age and background and creating links between old and new generation.
