When the goal of your story is to show us the dullness of living, you must make sure that the readers are not so tired that they do not end the story. Does one of the phrases contain a sentence that you have already reread or listened to? Will your titles extend the significance of history? Is it making the story smaller? When the story works, you'll find a good home for it. Have a look at Patrick Davey's George Saunders in Bomb Mag (the interviews are in two parts; see also the second part). It is important to tell the story as it should be narrated.

If you write in the first one, you can often imagine that the player jumps from the side. Re-write some of the third person's sentences and see if this is still the case. Don't let your'original intention' stop you for a story or sequence.

Tell us how many people you have in your story. Is it possible to merge any of the players? Have a look at Ali Smith's short story. In the cadenzas of each movement, a short story is alive and dying. Speak your story out loud. There is no story of a bedridden personality who is depressed. Metamorphose' by Franz Kafka is a very good story.

Teach the readers what it's like to live in the room your character is in. Thousand words that describe two people at the same tables against three sequences, three hundred words each, of the same two people in different settings/periods. Fill the spaces of your story with the emotive furnishings of your spirit.

Do not disturb' by A.M. Holmes. Reread the tales of your favorite writers. Let all kinds of things affect your story - soundtracks, movies, arts, TV, conversation, travel. When you only allow other people to tell your tales, you are creating a room with empty mimics. This is the story of ZZ Packer in The New Yorker.

Sense anything when you are reading your last line? When your story is at a burial, you can probably slice the scenes about the poor quality sanwiches.
